Pletcher said Mo Donegal resembles his sire, Uncle Mo. “Uncle Mo stamps his offspring probably more so than any stallion in the country,” Pletcher said. “(Mo Donegal) looks like a lot of them do. He’s got the same build. He’s a good-sized colt.

You need a good trip in the Derby, and with his running style he’s going to have to work his way through some traffic,” Pletcher said after the Wood. “But I think he’s got some good experience, and he showed today he can overcome a bit of a trip and zigzag when he needs to.
