Todd Pletcher on Mo Donegal

Pletcher said Mo Donegal resembles his sire, Uncle Mo. “Uncle Mo stamps his offspring probably more so than any stallion in the country,” Pletcher said. “(Mo Donegal) looks like a lot of them do. He’s got the same build. He’s a good-sized colt.

You need a good trip in the Derby, and with his running style he’s going to have to work his way through some traffic,” Pletcher said after the Wood. “But I think he’s got some good experience, and he showed today he can overcome a bit of a trip and zigzag when he needs to. Most importantly, it looks like he has the stamina to see out the trip.”
