Turfway Runner takes Claiming Honors

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comBig Flirt wore down the leader to win by a neck in the eighth race at Turfway Park Friday and has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. The 7 year old stalked the leaders in mid-pack and made his move near the quarter pole under veteran rider Eddie Zuniga. The son of Macho Uno covered the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:18.30 on the Florence, Kentucky all weather surface and returned $8.00 to his supporters. With his win in the $8,000 claiming race, the tough gelding recorded his ninth lifetime win from 52 starts. Trained by Jamie Grubbs, Big Flirt has now accumulated $119,000 in his career and finished in the money 30 times. He has a particular fondness for Turfway Park where he has finished in the money 9 of 14 races. Big Flirt is owned by James Wright.
