True named AGameofskill.com Claimer of the Week

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comTrue, a hard hitting mare previously denied victory this year, defeated her rivals decisively in the opening race at Churchill Downs Sunday and paid $5.80 to her backers. True was breathing down the neck of the early leader and took control just before the quarter pole and eventually coasted to a 4 length victory in the $8,000 starter event. Jesus Castanon guided the Michael Tomlinson trainee during the 7 furlong run on the main track. Even though the 5 year old had finished in the money 8 times in 2012 she had yet to notch her first win of the season. Owned by Avalon Racing, Inc., the bay daughter of Yes It’s True now has 6 career wins from 29 starts with 21 in the money finishes and career earnings exceeding $145,000.
