In the 10th race at Maywood Park on May 23, 2013, a patron hops over the fence in the backstretch and runs across the racetrack only INCHES in front of the lead horse, Summer Party, causing that horse to break stride. The patron just barely made it across the racetrack safely. The race was declared official. However, Summer Party was declared a nonstarter and all money wagered on that horse was promptly refunded.
