Black Belt, a gelding who had not seen the Winner’s Circle in over two years, dashed to victory in the fourth race at Tampa Thursdayafternoon for $5,000 claimers and has been named the agameofslkill.com Claimer of the Week. The son of Prized stalked the leaders from the outside and kept plugging away until he gained the advantage with less than a furlong to go to notch his eighth career win with the veteran Ronnie Allen, Jr. in the irons. The roan runner, trained by Gerald Bennett, covered the 5 ½ furlongs over the Tampa strip in 1:04.73. The 6 year old paid $6.40 to his supporters and is owned by Fast Break Racing Stables. Black Belt has finished in the money 21 times from 46 career races and has earned $378,000.
