Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comIde Ball took the Fairgrounds’ 14th race last Friday (March 30, 2012) and won like a favorite should. The chestnut gelding was always breathing down the neck of the pacesetter and took the lead at the 3/16 pole to win the State Bred Optional $25,000 race in the New Orleans night. Entered to be claimed, Ide Ball and rider Rosie Napravnick zipped the six furlongs in 109.92 and returned $3.40 to her backers. The seven year old is trained by Tom Amoss and owned by Midwest Thoroughbreds. The win was the 15th career victory for the Louisiana bred, who has now amassed over $400,000 in career earnings. Ide Ball has finished in the money an impressive 27 times from 41 starts.
