Royal runner takes claiming honors

The Royal Boot left the gate first and hit the wire long before her competition in the first race at Monmouth Saturday to earn theagameofskill.com Claimer of the Week honors. The 3 year old never looked back as jockey Pedro Cotto, Jr. guided her to a 5 length win against $20,000 claimers at 5 ½ furlongs. Royal Boot stopped the timer at 1:04.59 and returned $4.60 to her supporters as the favorite. The daughter of Chapel Royal earned her 7th career win and is trained by Jorge Navarro. Owned by the Amaty Stables Royal boot has finished in the money 10 times in her 17 race career and has accumulated $110,000 in lifetime earnings.
