PARX Runner takes AGamofSkill.com Claiming Honors

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comSure Start, a gelding that has made a good living in the City of Brotherly Love, has been named agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. Sure Start raced along the rail in the fourth race at PARX Saturday afternoon before making a winning move in the far turn. The 7 year old swung out once into the stretch and continued to close before taking the lead at the 1/16th pole. The Kathleen Demasi trainee stopped the timer at 1:45.38 for the one mile and 70 yard race between $7,500 claimers. Ridden by the veteran Jose Flores, Sure Start paid $11.20 to supporters. It was the eighth lifetime victory for the son of Jump Start, who is owned by the Pewter Stable and the Mjm Stable. Sure start has accumulated approximately $252,000 in a 62 race career. He has finished in the money 35 times and was purchased at Keeneland in 2006 for only $22,000.
