Please note that horses spotlighted in Off the Charts Trip Notes are never an automatic bet back, but rather runners to give a serious look at given the trips and the trouble spotted by our expert handicappers at AGameofSkill.com.  Horses below listed in track name order.

Arlington

FORT DIXIE (Race 10 @AP, September 6, 2014, one mile turf, MSW) The third choice tracked the leaders in mid-pack and was advancing when the field entered the far turn but was then checked and shuffled back to next to last losing a great deal of real estate. He then came back to be right behind the bulk of the field and was forced to wait while possessing plenty of run. He then swung out extremely wide, ran with determination to gain third losing less than two lengths. He lost much more ground than his margin of defeat.

Belmont

SMOKE POLICE (Race 5@BEL, September 7, 2014, 6 furlongs, MSW) The second choice was bumped at the start and squeezed and then advanced almost to the front while on the outside. He was then bumped by one foe into another and was forced to check and pull up very hard losing considerable ground and all hope to contend.

Churchill Downs

KNIGHTS NATION (Race 3@CD, September 6, 2014, 1 1/16 miles turf, Claiming $50,000) The third choice ran well and entered the far turn while advancing along the rail and was waiting almost the entire turn behind leaders. He tried to get through at the top of the stretch but the leader came over to the rail and he was forced to steady and Wait again. He tried to get through at the final marker but had to check and steady again and was then left without a chance.

Gulfstream

LION BELLE (Race 1 @GP, September 6, 2014, 5 ½ furlongs, Claiming $6,250) The favorite stumbled so bad at the start she almost went to her knees and almost touched her nose to the ground with the rider hanging on. She recovered from far back and moved wide throughout the turn and wide into the stretch. She never quit trying and finished fifth in what was a good effort considering the tremendous loss early in the race.

PARX

SAVVY JOE (Race 8 @PRX, September 7, 2014, 6 furlongs, Claiming $25,000 2L) The favorite advanced along the inside and was directly behind the leader just before the turn but trapped on the rail and was waiting for room under a tight hold. This continued all the way until the top of the stretch when he tried to get through on the rail but continued to wait. No room opened and, while still under a tight hold, was closed off completely around the furlong marker and had to pull up, losing ground and all hope.

Remington

POSSE ATTACK (Race 5 @RP, September 6, 2014, 1 1/16 miles turf, Claiming $12,500) The third choice traveled well but was in tight quarters much of the backstretch and was waiting for room. When the field moved into the turn he was behind a big wall of horses and tried to move between foes when one foe came in and slamming him into a foe and forcing him to pull up and check, which cost considerable ground. He rallied but was in need of room coming back to finish fifth.
