Off The Charts Trip Notes – November 28, 2012

Off the Charts Trip Notes (November 28, 2012) spotlights horses throughout the country who encountered some type of significant or meaningful trouble in their most recent start or just gave an extremely impressive performance. Please note that horses spotlighted in Off the Charts Trip Notes are never an automatic bet back, but rather runners to give a serious look at given the trips and the trouble spotted by our expert handicappers at AGameofSkill.com.  Horses below listed in track name order.

At Beulah Park

MISS BULLDOG (Race 2 at Beu, Nov. 19, 1 mile, claimer). The heavy favorite in this low level claimer (an oxymoron at this track) suffered a very tough trip en route to a 4th place finish. Jock decided to make a run up the inside on the far turn and that proved to be a bad decision as she never got clear sailing from that point on.  Ran decent considering the trouble and can fare better, at higher odds, next time out.

At Golden Gate

OUTDOORSMAN GENE (Race 1 at GG, Nov. 15, turf). Second choice in the field despite not having run in about a year, this guy was too far behind early. Proceeded to make a strong, wide run at the top of the lane. Every time he appeared to be gaining momentum a horse drifted out in front of him in the lane. That problem was costly late as he was wrapped up at the 1/16th, finishing fifth behind a quartet of runners blanketed at the wire. Surely needed this start and will move forward next time out, especially with a cleaner trip.

At Woodbine
WONDER PHIL (Race 2 at WO, Nov. 7, allowance 3L, 6 1/2 furlongs main track). Slow to start and get into stride, next to last after opening quarter mile. Waited at 5/16, raced behind wall of horses five rivals across in turn. Gelding was forced to steady at top of stretch and waited again. From last, Wonder Phil was finally able to launch a bid from a furlong out, rallied hard with interest between others to gain fourth. Speed favoring track early in the card also diminished his chances.
