Horses to watch are never automatic bet backs. Always analyze the horse’s chances against today’s competition and race set up.
WILD MAN (Saratoga, August 29, 2015, Race 4, #8 Saddlecloth) tried to get off what appeared to be a dead rail but, irony of irony, was kept in by Grand Candy, his uncoupled entry mate. He had to shuffle back and circle horses, but still got up for third in a very legitimate effort. Play this guy right back.
UNBRIDLED FOREVER looks like a champ going 7 furlongs and has to be considered a top 3 chance in the BC F&M Sprint, which will also be contested at the 7 Furlong distance.
RED RIFLE (Saratoga, August 29, 2015, 1 1/2 miles turf stakes) got beat by Euro invader Flintshire in the Sword Dancer, but it was many lengths to third and he looks like the best American-based turf horse going by a substantial margin. Definite threat for the BC Turf if the heavy hitters from Europe do not show up.
IMAGINETHATMOM (Gulfstream Park – 8/29/15 – Race #7 – #9 – 7 1/2 on the turf) Eddie Castro was reserved off the early running and circled six wide around the far turn. He broke from the #9 post and was wide. That had this guy somewhere between Miami and Cuba. He was picking them up and laying them down pretty quickly and we need to look for a favorable pace scenario to set him down the lane. Overall, this was a very good showing of things to come.
