Nine year old Racehorse takes weekly Claiming Honors

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comNine year old Future Prospect won the fourth race at Churchill Downs Saturday afternoon and has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week.  The former graded stakes winner started on the rail and, despite the reputation of his rider, was taken outside just before entering the far turn. Rider Calvin Borel kept the veteran’s mind on business and he gradually wore down the pacesetter and then hung on to win by a half-length. It was the fourth win at Churchill Downs and the 15th career win for Future Prospect. Out of 35 career races the tough old gelding has finished in the money 21 times and has a lifetime bankroll of $492,000.  The son of Freud ran the 6 furlongs in 1:10.84 and returned $8.80 to his backers when the $5,000 claiming event was made official. Future Prospect is owned and trained by Dodson Skaggs.
