Gulfstream turfster named AGameofskill.com Claimer of the Week

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comBig Notion has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. The Gulfstream runner had a less than perfect start in the eighth race at Gulfstream Park Thursday afternoon but showed he was much the best by the time the $25,000 optional claiming field reported home. The son of Great Notion patiently raced along the rail and waited for room once the field was in the stretch. Still in sixth position with a furlong to go, the 5 year old gelding turned on the afterburners, split rivals and won by a couple of lengths with much ease. Big Notion looked like an odds on favorite winning with a late burst of energy, but in fact he was not given much of a chance by the public and returned a handsome $25.20 to win. Owned and trained by Gary Jackson, Big Notion recorded his sixth career win and tenth in the money finish from 16 career races. Jose Garcia rode the Virginia bred to victory in 56.29 seconds over the 5 panels on the turf. Big Notion now has career earnings exceeding $90,000.
