Gulfstream runner takes claiming honors

Megalith settled off the pace and took command in the stretch to win the fourth race at Gulfstream Park last Friday and has been named the Claimer of the Week. The 6 year old defeated a good field of $12,500 claimers over 7 furlongs and stopped the timer in 1:23:43. The son of Trippi paid a whopping $21.40 to his backers when his 11th career victory was made official. Trained by Belinda Manchio and ridden by Jesus Rio, Megalith now has career earnings of $304,000. The tough gelding is owned by Live Lucky Stable and has finished in the money 22 times from 42 career races.
