Great Horse Racing Video Series – 1997 Belmont Stakes

Are we store for this type of result on Saturday?  In the 1997 Belmont Stakes jockey Gary Stevens, one of the best of our generation, rode a less than stellar race aboard Triple Crown hopeful Silver Charm.  It began around the first turn when he lost tactical advantage along the inside, giving up that spot to eventual winner Touch Gold.  The 1997 Belmont Stakes featured a thrilling stretch run, called by Tom Durkin.
