Girl gets ‘em in Nawlins

Gettem Up Girl moved from the back section of the field and closed with determination to win by a neck in the sixth race at Fairgrounds last Thursday. The chestnut mare was guided to victory by jockey Marcelino Pedroza in the $12,500 claiming event. The daughter of Belong to Me stopped the timer at 111.96 for the six panels and returned a handsome $16.80 to her backers. Trained by Tim Glyshaw, the 5 year old has now won 7 times in her career from 33 starts. She has finished in the money 19 times and has earned over $105,000. Gettem Up Girl is owned Paul Adkins.
