Genuine, Bargain Racehorse is named AGameofskill Claimer of the Week

Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comBack Away, a true bargain in both the auction ring and at the claiming box, has been named our Claimer of the Week. Back Away captured the sixth race at Monmouth Saturday afternoon, a $40,000 claiming event at a mile on turf. The son of Put It Back ran a very professional race by stalking the pacesetter, taking the lead at the quarter pole and going on to win by over a length. Ridden by Joe Bravo the gelding covered the turf mile in 1:34.90. The Florida bred was sold for only $2,000 at Ocala in 2012 and was once claimed for the modest price of $8,000. His current connections got him at the claiming box in Tampa for only $12,500. The 3 year old gelding is trained by Derek Ryan and owned by Metro Thoroughbreds. Back Away now has 11 lifetime starts with 5 wins, 4 of which have been on the lawn, and 7 in the money finishes. Back Away has career earnings of approximately $80,000.
