Claimer of the Week: Churchill lover tales claiming honors

Forty Four North stalked the early pace, took command in mid-stretch and won the fourth race at Churchill Downs last Thursday by more than five lengths. It was the fifth career win for the Kentucky bred, all have been at Churchill Downs, and the 5 year old has finished in the money in all 7 of his races under the Twin Spires. The son of Arch finished the 6 furlongs in 1:11.68 and returned $8.20 to his backers. Ridden by Ricardo Santana and trained by Ron Moquett, the bay gelding has finished in the money (top three finishers) in 8 of 20 lifetime races. Owned by Southern Springs Stable, Forty Four North has accumulated over $71,000 in career earnings.
