Claimer of the Week: Chicago mare takes honor on closing day

Horse Racing Claimer of the Week at She’s Lit Up took a field of fillies and mares coast to coast in the fourth race on Arlington’s closing day and has been named the Claimer of the Week. Taken in hand near the wire, She’s Lit Up defeated a field of $8,000 claimers by 3 ½ lengths over a firm turf course. The Larry Rivelli trainee stopped the clock for the 5 furlong heat in 57.79 and returned $3.60 to her backers. With her regular rider in the irons, E.T. Baird, She’s Lit Up scored her second consecutive victory and the seventh of her career. The daughter of Personal First has finished in the money (top three finishers) 15 times from 20 lifetime races. The 5 year old mare is owned by Patricia’s Hope, LLC. The Kentucky bred has now accumulated $82,000 of career earnings.
