Blues Edge was swift from the gate and escorted the field coast to coast while winning the fourth race at Canterbury Park last Friday night. The daughter of Obstacle won by a half-length over a field of optional $35,000 claimers. After setting a pedestrian pace, the mare stopped the timer at 1:44.43 over the firm turf course at the conclusion of her 1 1/16 mile journey and returned $6.40 to her supporters. Veteran Dean Butler was the rider aboard the 6 year old bay as she collected the seventh victory of her career and her first on turf. The Minnesota bred is trained by Bernell Rhone. Owned by Wayne Scanlan, Blues Edge has finished in the money (top three finishers) in 18 of 27 lifetime races and accumulated over $146,000 of earnings.
