Claimer of the Week: A Gentlemanly Victory

Gentleman Jackson went to the lead and never looked back while capturing the eighth race at Woodbine Friday afternoon, defeating a solid field of $32,000 claimers by 3 lengths. The bay gelding has been named the Claimer of the Week and covered the 6 ½ furlongs over Toronto’s firm turf course in an impressive 1:14.71. Ridden by Jesse Campbell, the bay gelding recorded his 11th career victory. The 8 year old is trained by Martin Drexler and has finished in the money (top three finishers) 25 times from 44 races. The Kentucky bred was sired by Alert and is owned by his trainer and others. Gentleman Jackson has accumulated over $317,000 in lifetime earnings.
