Claimer at a Classic Distance – Takes Claiming Honors

Kentucky Derby 140Folowthemoneytrail won the fourth race at Turfway Park Friday night and has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. Folowthemoneytrail won the $5,000 starter allowance race over a 1 ¼ mile distance, the same distance as the Kentucky Derby. Fitting that the winner is a grandson of a KY Derby winner – Go for Gin. Sired by Albert the Great, the 6 year old stalked the pace, gradually moving up, and took command after passing the quarter pole and romped home a 5 length winner. He covered the classic distance in 2:05.92 on Turfway’s polytrack and returned $3.20 to his backers. The gelding is trained by Jeff Greenhill and was ridden to victory by Albin Jimenez. It was the ninth career win for Folowthemoneytrail, who is owned by Jose Cazares, and his 20th in the money finish from 32 lifetime races. His career earnings now exceed $78,000.
