Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comU.K. Girl captured the fifth race on the last Wednesday night card of the Woodbine season and has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. She was the longest shot on the board and didn’t leave the gate in good order, but the daughter of Tiger Ridge kept to her mission and gradually ran past all others to win the 5 furlong dash for $6,000 claimers by a couple of lengths. The chestnut mare covered the distance on Woodbine’s polytrack in 59.58 seconds and she paid $44.60 to her backers. The victory was the twelfth of her career, who was ridden by apprentice Katy Morrison. Trained by Dorothy Gentner, the 6 year old has finished in the money an impressive 33 times from 55 lifetime starts. Owned by Beryl Larue, U.K. Girl has now accumulated more than $186,000 in career earnings.
