Awesome wins at an old track with a new name

Horse Racing Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comCuzshezawesome stalked the early pacesetters and took the lead in upper stretch before running away to an easy victory at Belterra Park in the first race last Thursday. Belterra Park is the new name for River Downs. The daughter of Volponi covered the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:18.83 in the $3,500 claiming race and returned $9.20 to her supporters. Veteran rider Gabe Lagunes guided the mare to her eighth career victory. Owned and trained by Gene Yarberry, the 8 year old has finished in the money 23 times from 38 lifetime starts. The mare has earned $33,000 in career earnings.
