An Old Pro does it again and is named Claimer of the Week

Double Down Vinman zipped the half mile in 44.79 and finished the 6 panels in 1:10.50. The official winning margin was 2 lengths in the $7,500 claiming event. Owned and trained by Evan Lauro the 8 year old gelding returned $7.80 to his supporters. Ridden by Luis Rivera, Jr. the son of Out of Place scored his second win since being claimed in October for $5,000. Purchased at auction for $42,000 in 2006, Double Down Vinman now has 20 career victories out of 63 starts. He has finished in the money 36 times and with Saturday’s victory, the old pro now has lifetime earnings of $531,000.
