Prairie Meadows runner shines

Hancock County made very pole a winner and scored a 6 length victory in the fifth race at Prairie Meadows last Friday night. Hancock County has been named the Claimer of the Week. The 7 year old defeated a field of $4,000 claimers over the one mile main track and stopped the timer in 1:39.29. The son of Good and Tough paid $7.80 to his backers when his 9th career victory was made official. Trained by Karl Broberg and ridden by Glenn Corbett, the chestnut now has career earnings of $100,000. The tough gelding is owned by End Zone Athletics and has finished in the money 17 times from 46 career races.
