Golden Rings gets the gold once again

Golden Rings easily defeated his $5,000 claiming rivals in the second race at Laurel Friday afternoon by a half-dozen lengths. Golden Rings has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. The son of Belmont winner Birdstone covered the 8 1/2 furlongs in 1:46.53 over a fast main track to secure his eighth career victory. Ridden by apprentice Kali Francois, the chestnut gelding scored his third straight win and returned $3.20 to his backers. The 5 year old is trained by Kieron Magee and has finished in the money (top three finishers) in 15 races from 23 lifetime outings. Owned by Cornelius Ridgely, Golden Rings has now accumulated over $158,000 in his career.
