An old, but attractive winner takes weekly honor

Horse Racing Claimer of the Week at AGameofSkill.comLast Monday a field of 7 horses filled the gate for Saratoga’s fifth race, an event for $16,000 claimers at 6 furlongs. The collective field had 249 starts and 59 wins. So, what does it take to beat a field like that? A real winner and that meant an old warrior like Attractive Ride, who whipped the field and has been named the agameofskill.com Claimer of the Week. The 8 year old left the gate all business and led the field around the track and beat a solid, salty group by 6 lengths and stopped the timer in 1:09.75. The gelding returned $5.60 to his backers after his 19th career victory became official. The son of Candy Ride has won on all surfaces: dirt, all-weather, off tracks and turf. Ridden by Angel Rodriguez and trained by Hugh McMahon, Attractive Ride has finished in the money (top 3) a very impressive 36 times from 69 lifetime starts. Owned by Matthew Groff the tough dark bay competitor has accumulated $421,000 in career earnings.
